National Center for Chaplain Development, The Joyful Child Foundation and radKIDS have partnered together towards a National Community Based Iniative to protect our children from child abduction and sexual predators.
Erin Runnion (mother of Samantha Runnion, Ed Smart (father of Elizabeth Smart) and Steve Daley from radKIDS will be presenting how you can become trained & involved in the prevention, intervention and postvention of child safety, abduction and sexual predation. We will additionally hear from Detective Jeff Brown of the Orange County Sex Crimes Unit.
While National Center for Chaplain Development primary's intention is the development of public safety and community based chaplains, our ultimate desire is to serve the poor, orphans, widows, youth, elderly, marginalized, the least the last and the lost.
Our first focus is that of protecting our children.
Through our many collaborative partners, NCCD is developing School Chaplains who will be trained nationwide to deliver both Samantha's Pride and radKIDS training to pre-K, 5-7 and 8-12 year olds in the community and school systems. We also have an Active Shooter Scenario for the development of full scale or table top exercises for the running of a Family Assistance Center (FAC) to reunify students with families after an extended lock down. This program, developed by Sr Master Chaplain Mindi Russell (board of director of NCCD) has already received recognition from Governor Schwarzzeneger in Northern California and a request by Homeland Security to develop curriculum for use in other parts of the county.
Come join us on Monday evening August 8th as we open up the doors to the community to discuss this vital issue of safety for our children nationwide. For more information on this and other happenings contact us at 866-949-6223.
